What is this tool?
Adds password protection to a PDF using real RC4 128-bit encryption, so the file requires a password to open in any standard PDF reader.
How to use it
Upload your PDF, enter the password you want to require, and download the protected file. Test it by opening the downloaded PDF and confirming it asks for the password.
RC4 128-bit protects against casual, opportunistic access -- it's not the strongest encryption available and isn't a substitute for encrypting genuinely sensitive data through more robust means. Good for "don't let just anyone open this," not for defending against a determined, technical attacker.
